Monthly Favourites | March ♡

LOTS of favourites this month - I obviously had a better month than I originally thought, which is always a nice reminder! I quite enjoy posting monthly favourites because I get to talk about what I love and I feel like they're a little more personal. You can definitely get a feel for what I'm like as a person just by reading through my monthly faves and seeing how random they are!

I am completely obsessed! I think I have worn it like 10+ times since I bought it and I don't even care that I'm an outfit repeater because at least my outfit looks on point (insert girl emoji with her hand flicked to the side). It's such an effortless piece and something that I feel instantly dresses you up - even if you wear it with baby blue Nike's like I do.

I will be doing a short little post all about by trip to Center Parcs but for now, just know that it was probably the highlight of my whole month and I kinda wish that I lived there.. The rapids are the best thing since sliced bread and so were the lie ins I got to endure for four days, ahhh bliss..

Never experienced this Spa before because girl's on a budget 99% of the time, but this year I decided to YOLO (yes, I did just say 'YOLO' and no, I have no idea why..) and just go for it. My boyfriend and I had such a nice time and we felt so relaxed after that it was probably a little dangerous for him to then drive all the way home! If you're ever in Center Parcs and want to try out the Spa, then I definitely recommend you do.

The prettiest Cath Kidston Spring Bouquet Classic Box Cosmetic Bag with Nylon Zip (wow that's a bit of a mouthful!?) and I couldn't be happier with it being mine. I bought this on sale whilst away on holiday in Center Parcs so the one I have linked is similar, I don't think it's as big as the one I own though. I was on the lookout for a big wash bag that would be able to fit all of makeup, makeup brushes and toiletries in because at the moment I normally end up travelling with four different makeup bags..

5. The Sea
I know, bit random right? But I traveled down to my boyfriend's grandparents house a couple of weekend's back now and they live down in Plymouth by the sea. We took a lovely little stroll down to the sea and it just reminded me how much I would love to live near a beach. It's so calming and reminds me of my childhood when I used to go down to visit my grandparents in Devon and my sister and I would always play by the sea. So yeah, I've fallen in love with the good ol' sea!

I forgot how much I love the Costa Vanilla Creamy Cooler and now I'm addicted all over again. The Mint Choc Chip Creamy Cooler also looks just as amazing so I think that is one for me try next.

Over the bank holiday weekend my boyfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to Longleat Safari Park! I hadn't been there since forever and it was such a fun thing to do. The sun making a rare appearance really made the whole trip that little better and I had my floral jeans on to let the world know how happy I was that the sun was out.

8. These Sweet Treats
I also decided to dabble a little bit with the baking over the Easter weekend and ended up with Creme Egg Rocky Road and a White Chocolate Dream Tart. Linked above is a more in depth post about the two including recipe's for both of them if you fancy giving them a go for yourself (I don't blame you if you do!).

So, that concludes my March favourites! We got there in the end and if you're still reading onto this point then congratulations and go treat yourself to that Easter egg/bunny/chocolate that is currently calling your name (you're welcome :))

What have you been loving throughout the month of March?xoxo

Payday Wishlist #2 | ASOS & Topshop ♡

The last time that I shared a payday wishlist was August of last year.. Yeah, that's how long it's been since I actually last had a shopping splurge (*cry* since when was it fun becoming a poor adult?).

So I thought that I would put together a little wishlist and hopefully I might be able to actually treat myself this month to a couple of things and then I can be oh so happy and smug and share all the goodies on Insta because why are you buying anything if you're not posting a pretty lil' picture on Instagram for?

I joke, I joke. But, seriously though - I love Instagram so much :))))

Anyway, on with the wishlist! Enjoy. P.S. I hope this doesn't make you want to spend all of your money as well and if it does then we can just enjoy being poor again together! Happy shopping!

What are your favourite's from this list?xoxo

Easter Baking ♡

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you've all had a wonderful day and eaten your body weight in chocolate eggs :)

My mum, sister and I made a couple of goodies for Easter today so I thought I'd share them with you and also show you the recipes in case you fancy giving them a go yourself! Enjoy!

Creme Egg Rocky Road (Recipe from ProperTasty's Facebook page)

Ingredients
150g butter
250g dark chocolate
150g milk chocolate
4tbsp golden syrup
150g digestive biscuits
100g marshmallows
180g mini creme eggs
150g white chocolate

Method

Step 1: Melt the butter, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and golden syrup in one bowl. To melt these ingredients, place them in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, then remove from the heat.

Step 2: Add in the digestives, marshmallows and mini creme eggs. Stir all of these ingredients together.

Step 3: Place this mixture into a dish that is lined with grease proof paper.

Step 4: Melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the rocky road mixture.

Step 5: Halve a pack of mini creme eggs and press them into the mixture before placing in the fridge to cool.

Step 6: Leave in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Step 7: Enjoy!!

Ingredients

For the filling
1 Morrisons 'The Best Sweet' pastry case
175g white chocolate, broken into pieces
250g tub mascarpone
150ml Elmlea Double Light cream

For serving
1tbsp icing sugar
75-100g redcurrants (about 6-8 stalks)
OR
7 raspberries

Method

1. Melt 150g of the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Remove from the heat.

2. Using a pastry brush, paint a very thin layer of chocolate over the inside of the pastry case. Set aside until firm.

3. Return the bowl and pan to the heat and add half of the mascarpone to the melted chocolate. Stir until smooth and then leave to cool slightly.

4. Whisk the remaining mascarpone and fold in the Elmlea cream, then pour into the pastry case.

5. Chill for 2-3 hours or until it has set.

6. Grate the remaining white chocolate over the top of the tart, dust with icing sugar and serve with either some redcurrants or raspberries for decoration.

7. Eat and enjoy!!

Purple & Pink | Spring Makeup Look ♡

I absolutely love the Spring time for creating fun and slightly colourful makeup looks! I decided to share this look with you guys today because I'm starting to upload to YouTube again - which I love!

I don't want to babble too much so I'll just get on with how I got this look!

Firstly, I used my Smashbox Colour Corrector Primer just to even out the colour of my base as I suffer with a little bit of redness on and around my nose area and also sometimes on my cheeks. I then primed my eyes with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original and set that with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana Contour Powder using the Real Techniques Setting Brush.

I went ahead and used both Buck and Naked from the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette as the transition shades in my crease. To further define the crease I took my BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Eyeshadow and Highlight Palette and used the two mauve-y/maroon shades.

I then took my Benefit Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation and applied this using my Sigma Flat Kabuki Brush (F80) - this brush is amazing and I love it. To conceal and brighten my eye area, I used the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and blended this in using my Zoeva 142 Concealer Buffer Brush. I then set my eye area using the ABH Banana Powder and the RT Setting Brush - just like I did before when priming my eyes.

When setting the rest of my face to keep my foundation in place and ensure that I looked matte, I took my Benefit Hello Flawless Powder Foundation with my Zoeva 106 Powder Brush.

Yay! Now time to contour using my Benefit Hoola Bronzer with my Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush (and also a cheap blush brush, I have no idea where it is from though!). To make this look a little more 'Spring' appropriate, I used theBalm FratBoy Shadow Blush to add a nice flush of colour to my cheeks using my Sigma F40 Large Angled Contour Brush.

Eyebrows! I always use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to fill in and shape my brows and I love it. I then set them with the Benefit Gimmie Brow Eyebrow Gel.

Then I took theBalm Mary-Lou-Manizer Luminizer and applied this to my cheekbones, cupid's bow, down the bridge of my nose, on my eyebrow bone and in the inner corners of my eyes to highlight/brighten - I love highlighter so much and my makeup routine will never not include a good bit of highlighting!!

After this, I used the UD Naked Palette again and applied a mixture of both Buck and Naked to my lower lash line. I then went ahead and used the BHCosmetics Carli Bybel Palette again and applied a mixture of the two mauve-y/maroon/purple shades and blended these two on my lower lash line using my Sigma E30 Pencil Brush.

Now for mascara! Using my trusty Benefit Rollerlash that I absolutely love and I cannot sing it's praises enough, it's honestly the best mascara I've ever tried and trust me, I've tried many.. I apply this to both my top and lower lashes and I also curl my top lashes with The Vintage Cosmetics Company Rose Gold Eyelash Curler.

Lastly, the perfect pink lips! I love this combo so much and I definitely reckon that I will do a separate blog post all about this perfect combination, but for now I used the MAC Hip 'n' Happy Lip Pencil paired with the MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick to get this pretty girly lip.

Let me know your thoughts on this look :) xoxo

Eyeshadow Review | Soap & Glory 'Lid Stuff' Palette ♡

Don't you just love it when you love a drugstore eyeshadow palette that is super affordable!? I know I do. Today I will be talking about the Soap & Glory .... eyeshadow palette and, FYI, I absolutely love it.

Firstly, it's small enough to take away with you that it won't get in the way.

Secondly, all of the shades are pretty versatile and pigmented.

As you can see, there is a lovely creamy/white shade, a pink toned brown, medium brown and a taupe-y shimmery brown.

I feel like all of these shades match perfectly together and they all have pretty decent colour pay-off. Although, I would say that the last shimmery shade isn't all that pigmented or shimmery so I would definitely suggest spritzing your eyeshadow brush with a little bit of fix+ by MAC just so the colour is more noticeable.

Or you could maybe even apply this shade using your finger as an eyeshadow brush doesn't pick up half as much pigment as my finger did (as you can see by the swatch below).

Vanilla (creamy/white matte) - Perfect for an all over lid shade or to highlight the brow bone.
Pink T (pink toned brown matte) - Great as a first transition shade in the crease before applying the medium brown
Mudhoney (brown matte) - Again, great as a transition shade over the top of Pink T to deepen it. This would also work well for deepening up the outer third of the eye.
Aubersheen (taupe-y/brown shimmer) - A lovely shade for a subtle smokey look if applied all over the lid.

I really love this palette and I especially love the price - £10! For a drugstore brand, this palette is pretty impressive and I love that they haven't included one of those horrible cheap sponge eyeshadow applicators because they really are a waste of time.

I also love the simplicity of the packaging and I definitely think this would be a great palette for someone who is just starting to play around with eyeshadows as they're pigmented, but not over pigmented and they're also very blendable.

Have you tried this 'Lid Stuff' palette by Soap & Glory?xoxo

(Unfortunately, I don't think Soap & Glory sell this palette anymore which is really annoying.. I can't see it on the Boots website but maybe if you went in store you may be able to find it? :))

Top 15 | My Favourite YouTube Channels ♡

*Image taken from google, here*
Today I thought that I would share with you guys the YouTuber's that I really enjoy watching on a weekly basis. I watch a range of people and most of them have different techniques as well as hair, eye and skin colour. They are all super talented and deserve many more subscribers/followers than they already have.

I feel like doing something a little different as most people just list there favourites in one long column - I have decided to add a little note underneath each person so you can get a feel for what there channel is like before clicking on them. I hope this is helpful!

Stunningly gorgeous and the best YouTuber I watch hands down! Jaclyn has red hair and green/blue eyes. Her videos are mainly makeup tutorials. (American)

The ever famous Zoella who I am sure you have all heard of. If you haven't, she is one for the chatty videos and normally does Haul's, Challenges and Baking videos. You can also relate to her a lot. Her second channel 'More Zoella' is videos of her day-to-day life. (English)

Lauren is super pretty and she's Australian so I love her accent! She also has blonde hair and blue eyes - the typical pretty looking girl! Lauren's channel mainly revolves around makeup tutorials suitable for people with fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes. (Australian)

Another stunning makeup artist who comes across extremely genuine and so lovely. Alli has blonde/brown hair with blue/green eyes and she mixes in hair tutorials along with her makeup tutorials. (American)

Possibly the most talented human being on this planet!? MadeYewLook is an extremely talented body painter so if you want to be amazed, check out her channel because she is the definition of awesome! (American)

Super glam and very fashionable! Carli has long and luscious brunette hair with blue eyes and her channel is a mixture of quite a few videos, mainly revolving around makeup tutorials. Carli is also very fashionable and her closet is insane!! (American)

Chloe Morello

Chloe is so funny and I always laugh every time I watch her videos as she really doesn't take herself seriously which is great to see. She mainly posts beauty related videos and also shares the occasional vlog or two. Chloe has brunette hair with blue/green eyes. (Australian)

Another Australian beauty guru (I really do love the Australian accent haha..). Shani is really down to earth and a lot of her videos involve q&a's with very personal questions and fair play to her for answering most of the questions she gets asked! A lot of different makeup tutorials are featured on Shani's YouTube and I love watching her. She has extremely long brunette hair with the most gorgeous brown eyes! (Australian)

Extremely down to earth and her YouTube videos are always of great quality. Sarah Ashcroft is very fashion forward and always looks great in everything! She also shares beauty tutorials along with hauls and fashion videos on her channel. Sarah's Instagram is also worth a follow - her theme is insane. She has brown/blonde ombré hair with gorgeous blue eyes. (English)

Definitely a different kind of YouTuber to watch. Meghan creates her own type of videos that she would like to watch and is basically herself! She also does regular favourites videos and haul's and has blonde hair with blue/green eyes. (American)

Tyler is so super funny and I always laugh when I watch his videos! They're always personal and specific to him and his personality and they're the type's of videos you watch when you're feeling down. (American)

Kathleen is so cute with brown hair and green eyes. Her videos are mainly beauty related and she creates many tutorials which are always great to watch. (American)

Glitteralittle

The youngest of the bunch at only 18 years old! She has dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. Chloe's channel is beauty related and she normally posts makeup videos and haul's. (Irish)

Eyeshadow Review | BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel Palette ♡

The Carli Bybel palette has been in such high demand and everyone went crazy over it! I love watching Carli's videos and as soon as she mentioned that she had her own eyeshadow and highlight palette coming out, I KNEW I just had to get my paws on it. I love my highlight pretty intense, and so does Carli, so I'm not surprised at just how pigmented all the shades are.

I honestly cannot pick a favourite or preferred shade from this gorgeous palette because I really do genuinely love them all. However, I was firstly really intrigued by the deep berry tone in the top right hand corner - it's beautiful and works great as an outer third smokey shade.

All of the shimmery shades within this palette are so super pigmented and are really really shimmery. I can imagine that if you wet your brush with a little fix+ from MAC/some water, then the shimmer would be even more intense which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

The matte shades within the palette are also just as pigmented, but not too much so that they're impossible to blend. All the shadows are very creamy and easy to blend and the best part about this palette is the price - $12.50! It's currently 38% off and as BH Cosmetics is an American brand, that's why the price is in dollars. Converted to pounds it's around £9! For a flippin' 12 eyeshadow and highlight palette! It's so insanely inexpensive and it definitely should be worth much more as the quality is awesome (although I'm not complaining about it being £9, my bank balance loves me for it).

I also love the simplicity of the packaging - all white with a lovely, simple grey/silver design. It's easy to carry around with you because it's not too big, but it's also not too small either. This is definitely a great palette for versatility as you can easily create lots of different looks with all of the shades - natural, glamorous, smokey or intense.

As you can see here (and as I have mentioned maybe two or three times already..) all of the shades are super pigmented and this is only with one swipe of my finger on my hand, so I haven't gone back over and rubbed my finger tip more than once in the same spot (if that makes any sense.. I've read over that sentence multiple times now and it still doesn't make complete sense somehow.. Hmm). I haven't used fix+ either and you can see just how shimmery those shimmer shades are.

(I do apologise that you can hardly see the first light shade in the palette on my hand, as you can all probably tell by now I am quite pale and I'm in desperate need of a holiday or just some sun, because England is awful for hot and sunny weather. Anyway, what was I talking about?)

One last thing that I have to say about this palette - I feel like it would be great for all skin tones from pale to tanned to darker complexions and it isn't specified for just one certain skin tone, which I think can sometimes be the case with most palettes.

I basically really love this palette and I pretty much say this about everything I write about (obviously, otherwise that would be pretty pointless..), but it's true!

Do you own the Carli Bybel palette?xoxo
