Eyeshadow Review | Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon's Palette ♡

A baby pink heart shaped eyeshadow palette? Um, yes please!

Admittedly, everyone and their dog have been raving about this palette and, as usual, I'm late to the bandwagon. I don't actually mind this too much though because I bet there's a few more of you out there who are like me and probably didn't have the money as soon as it first released - so this post is for you guys who still haven't managed to get your paws on it yet (and anyone else who fancies a read).

When you first open the lid you are greeted with the most magnificent smell of chocolate (think cadbury mini eggs) and then you are hit with the gorgeousness of the shades within this palette.

Now, I definitely did not need another eyeshadow palette but as soon as I saw Catherine's review on this palette, I just knew that I had to get my hands on it. Luckily for me I received two £15 Debenhams vouchers for Christmas which meant I only paid £10 for this beauty!

Too Faced describe this palette as 'a candy-coated confection of heart-shaped delights' which is just the perfect description. Included are 16 matte and shimmer shades - mainly neutrals with a few pops of colour.

I now own two out of the three cocoa infused 'chocolate' palettes by Too Faced and they have really impressed me. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Swatches 1:

Almond Truffle (Matte) - ash mid tone brown with a slight purple undertone

Satin Sheets (Shimmer) - champagne shimmer with slight gold reflex

Cashew Chew (Matte) - light creamy beige

Cotton Candy (Shimmer) - light baby pink with slight silver reflex

Café Au Lait (Shimmer) - silver toned grey/brown

Dark Truffle (Shimmer) - dark brown with slight silver reflex

Pecan Praline (Matte) - grey toned light brown

Totally Fetch (Matte) - barbie pink with a slight sheen (not quite shimmer, not quite matte)

Swatches 2:

Sprinkles (Shimmer) - very pale pink with a subtle shimmer

Molasses Chip (Shimmer) - true gold with slight bronze reflex

Malted (Matte) - perfect mid tone brown

Bordeaux (Matte) -  medium brown with brick red undertone

Mocha (Matte) - light brown with a very slight ash undertone

Blackcurrant (Shimmer) - deep purple/plum with slight silver reflex

Earl Grey (Shimmer) - dark blue/navy with slight silver reflex

Divinity (Matte) - cream/eggshell white

The Chocolate Bon Bon's palette is perfect for everyday wear with it's many different neutrals and the shimmer shades within the palette will definitely see you beautifully into the evening!

I know to most people that Totally Fetch looks a little daunting, but during the Summer months it would look great smudged underneath the lower lash line for a pop of colour. You could also blend this shade out in the crease underneath some other neutral shades for a very subtle pink smokey eye.

It's safe to say that I'm totally o b s e s s e d with this eyeshadow palette and you all need it in your lives!

Prom Outfit Ideas #2 | Maxi Dresses & Shoes ♡

This is the second and last installment of my picks for prom/graduation dress ideas. I honestly can't really remember what date my prom was on so I do apologise if these are late, but at least you'll all be able to look at some pretty dresses and you may even have a different occasion to be able to wear these to (hopefully!).

So here are my maxi dress options for those who would prefer not to wear a short/shorter dress;

Prom Outfit Ideas #1 | Short/Midi Dresses & Shoes ♡

Ah, prom! I still remember that day pretty clearly (even though it was like 5 years ago for me now!?) and I really wasn't fussed about what to wear, I wore a plain black short dress - very boring. However, if there had been dresses around at that time like there are now then I definitely would have worn any of these that I have picked out as they're all gorgeous!

One thing I will say if you're struggling to find a dress - ASOS really will be your best friend. They do beautiful dresses for some great prices. There are also expensive ones (obviously) but you can still find a cheaper one that looks just as nice, if not better.

As it's prom/graduation season, I thought I'd put together a two part dress list - in this post I will be covering short/mini and also midi dresses (the next post will be all about the maxi dresses). There are also a few different shoe options. Here are a few of my picks;

15. Chi Chi London Petite Mini Prom Dress with Full Skirt and Bardot Neck - £65
16. ASOS Salon Drape Back Beaded Floral Midi Dress - £150
17. New Look Embellished Barely There Shoes - £29.99
18. ASOS Glamorous Silver Patent Two Part Heeled Sandals - £24.99
19. ASOS Haphazard Heeled Sandals - £25

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection | Preview and Swatches ♡

At 5:00pm on the dot, these beauties were in my basket being paid for.

I kinda have a love/hate relationship with these 'YouTuber/Celebrity Limited Edition' stuff because I hate the feeling of maybe missing out and having to rush to beat everyone else in the queue, it's just not a comforting feeling.

However, finally being the proud owner of a couple of limited edition products makes me feel so excited. So that's my love/hate relationship explained for ya!

As soon as I heard Jaclyn Hill reveal her collection on snapchat, I was all over it like a mad woman. I mean just look how b e a u t i f u l these products are!

As you can see, I opted for both the face palette and the eyeshadow palette. I already own the Champagne Pop highlighter (which I am probably a little bit too obsessed with..) so I didn't really feel like I needed the 'creme' and 'liquid' versions of it.

This face palette is just stunning and the design of the packaging is so beautiful. I also love how this palette comes with a huge mirror inside which is super handy for on-the-go application.

I definitely feel like Jaclyn put her heart and soul into this palette - from the packaging, to the layout and design and also down to the shades of highlight and blush that are included. I wouldn't expect anything less from Jaclyn though as she never does anything half-heartedly, which is exactly why I trust every one of her recommendations and definitely all of her products.

Swatches L-R: Rosé Spritz, Amaretto, Pamplemousse, Champagne Pop, Prosecco Pop

The new highlight shade - Prosecco Pop - is a gorgeous warm gold with a yellow undertone, which, when mixed with Champagne Pop, creates the most gorgeous and slay-worthy highlight you have ever seen.

The other shades included in the palette are the ever famous Champagne Pop (soft white gold with peachy pink undertones), Luminous Blush in Rosé Spritz (soft peachy pink with pale gold shimmer), Mineral Blush in Amaretto (matte toasted almond) and Mineral Blush in Pamplemousse (matte warm coral pink).

The other product I briefly mentioned that I purchased was the eyeshadow palette. Now, we all know how obsessed I am with eyeshadow palette's so this purchase was a given really.

Again, the packaging is beautiful and really light weight. I think some people aren't liking how lightweight the packaging is and are saying that it feels 'cheap', but I disagree and I think the aim with this was that it's travel-friendly - which I really like.

The different shades within this palette are so pretty and quite unique - just like Jaclyn! It's not often you see an eyeshadow palette with this much versatility, especially with 5 shades! This definitely gets a massive thumbs up from me and I cannot wait to start using it.

Swatches L-R: Chardonnay, Champagne Toast, Cordial, Cognac, Bordeaux

The shades included in the palette are Chardonnay (sheer gold with flashes of pink and soft yellow), Champagne Toast (reflective peach with a dash of cinnamon), Cordial (matte rose with warm undertones), Cognac (flattering matte coffee), Bordeaux (rich matte wine with chocolate undertones).

I'm extremely excited to start using both of these palette's and I'm so lucky to have these limited edition beauties in my possession.

Congratulations to Jaclyn Hill for an awesome collaboration with Becca Cosmetics. This collection is absolutely stunning and I can't wait to see more from Jaclyn in the near future!

P.S. I now understand, from watching Jaclyn's snapchat story (jaclynrhill), that the eyeshadow palette is going to be eliminated from the collection due to over 50% of them having a dry and patchy formula. I cannot comment on this yet as I have only swatched the eyeshadows - mine seem fine, nice and creamy. However, I will have a review coming soon on both of these palettes once I have used them a lot and you will hear my verdict then!

5 Things They Don't Teach You When You're Young(er) ♡

I seriously can be such a boring nancy sometimes, but I wanted to share this post with you guys because I feel like we can all relate. Now I do already know that I sound like a bit of a nagging mum but I thought that it would be something fun to put together and share. I've managed to tone down the 'nagging mum' part slightly with these funny gifs (well I think they're relatively funny anyway..)

1. Saving for a house deposit - I wish someone had told me how incredibly difficult it is to save money for a house deposit.. I feel like no one really addresses it much but I wish I had started saving from when I was like 16 year's old because I probably would have at saved at least half by now. Your parents do try and warn you about it to be fair, but because it's your parents your like 'oh they're only saying that to scare me' (but they are totally right) and you ignore them like the sassy kid that you are, obvs. So instead of teaching us algebra at school (which I weirdly loved) teach us life lessons like saving for a house.

2. How to spend money - (please bare with me whilst I sound like a total Grandma.. I've warned you..) I feel like we don't really have an understanding of how to effectively use and distribute our money. Most of us blow it all on clothes, makeup, food and alcohol and then have nothing left to show for it - mainly because we're having fun but also because we never get taught that 'once it's gone, it's gone' and if we spend it all in one go as soon as we get paid then we're basically buggered because 'money doesn't grow on trees kids'.. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we should be told how and when to spend our money, but if we had a little understanding then at least we'd be aware and that may make us a little more mindful.

3. How to save money - Following on from my first and second point, we also don't get taught the importance of saving money. Again, my mum always told me to save as much as I can 'just in case' and I never listened to her - well yeah, now I bloody wish I had! Saving money really is quite important because there are a number of things that can pop up and take you by surprise that you'll need to pay for. A few examples: A spontaneous holiday with a friend, your car unexpectedly breaking down, various family and friends' birthday and also christmas presents, an unexpected payout regarding your health, etc. There are many things that we should save money for you, yet we never do. So this is my little 'point-the-finger-and-tell-you-what-to-do' moment, SAVE MONEY KIDS.

4. Ignore those mean girls - I hate how people can sometimes be so mean that it puts us off of doing the things that we love. Whether that be YouTube or Blogging, singing or dancing or simply just wanting to get those amazing grades that we're capable of getting at school. I look back now and wish that I had someone telling me that they go away once you leave school and you never hear from them again! I probably would have started my blog and YouTube a lot sooner if this had been the case as I wouldn't have been scared to share my posts or videos and I know there are a lot of us out there who all feel the same.

5. First impressions are everything - This one I'm hoping is a little more self explanatory and is definitely very important. One of the first things we remember about a person is what they were like/what they looked like when we first met them. I've always gone out of my way to make an effort with what I look like and also how I come across as a person, as there's nothing worse than someone thinking you're not very nice or also thinking that you don't take care of yourself.

I've just been having these conversations with myself recently (I promise, I'm not weird at all..) all about what I would differently if given the chance, and these are just a few of the things that cropped up.

Obviously, these are just my own personal opinions and not everyone will feel the same way that I do and that's ok!
