PREVIEW | Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

I finally took the plunge and ordered myself the Too Faced Sweet Peach eyeshadow palette. Do I regret it? Yes...

Only because I'm a complete idiot and ordered it directly from the US site (I panicked because last time they all sold out and I really wanted it..), only to find out that sites in the UK were stocking it and I could have saved myself £10-15! It's definitely safe to say that I'm a little bit annoyed - but hey, at least I now have this gorgeous palette in my collection!

Firstly, this palette smells absolutely i n c r e d i b l e. I love the smell of peaches, so this was obviously going to be a winner in my books. It's very strong and pretty sickly, so steer clear if you're not into sickly/sweet scents.

I love the fact that Too Faced make their products smell amazing, it's definitely a great marketing tactic that's for sure! Chocolate? Yes please! Peaches? Definitely! I wonder what they'll come up with next.. But, for now, let's have a peak at the palette..

At first glance, the shades are right up my street and I can see myself using every single shade - which is unheard of from me! I love the warm yet frosty vibe this palette gives off and how there are a mixture of mattes and shimmers. You can never go wrong with a palette that has it all!

Left to Right: White Peach, Luscious, Just Peachy, Bless Her Heart, Tempting & Charmed I'm Sure

White Peach:
A true white. Not that pigmented, but then lighter shades never normally are so I didn't expect anything less. This shade would be great for highlighting the brow bone.

Luscious:
A peachy/gold shimmer. Stunning shade that would look great all over the lid, paired with a warm crease colour - such as Puree.

Just Peachy:
A pink/peach shimmer. Beautiful for the girl who loves her pinks! Again, this shade would look great as an all over lid shade paired with a warm crease colour. You could also use this shade to smudge on the lower lash line, if you're not one for a bright lid colour but want a little bit of colour added to your normal eyeshadow look.

Bless Her Heart:
A khaki green shimmer. Definitely a shade that's right up my street - I love my green eyeshadows! This shade would look really great all over the lid with a super smokey eye, for a night out. Again, you could also smudge this shade on the lower lash line for a pop of colour.

Tempting:
A dark black shade with a subtle shimmer. Most palette nowadays include that signature black shade, in order to create a smokey eye. This particular black eyeshadow isn't massively pigmented, so this would be great to use for anyone who is a beginner at smokey eyes or for someone who is scared of looking like they have a black eye (I know I am)!

Charmed I'm Sure:
A slightly cool toned matte brown. Every palette needs a cool toned brown and I feel that this one is perfect. This will definitely be my go to crease shade, for sure.

Left to Right: Nectar, Cobbler, Candied Peach, Bellini, Peach Pit, Delectable

Nectar:
A peachy/gold shimmer. Perfect as a highlighting shade for the inner corner of the eyes, or as an all over lid shade for a natural day time look.

Cobbler:
A light brown shimmer. This would be my go-to shade for a more 'full face' option, using a subtle smokey brown eyeshadow look.

Candied Peach:
A bright peach matte. Not one for the faint hearted! I think this will be the only shade in the palette that I won't use all that often, probably only in the Spring/Summer months to slightly brighten up my crease by using it over the top of the usual brown shades.

Bellini:
A pink/gold shimmer. This shade speaks to me on so many levels. I love shades like this - not that I ever wear them all that often might I add - but I still love it! This eyeshadow is definitely meant for all over the lid.

Peach Pit:
A deep purple shimmer. Purple eyeshadows always go down well with me because I have green eyes, so they accentuate my green eyes and make them look a lot brighter! This shade would look great paired with Delectable for a purple smokey eye - definitely night time appropriate.

Delectable:
A purple matte with slight shimmer. As mentioned above, this would look great as a purple smokey eye paired with Peach Pit. I love this shade of purple, it's super pretty and not intensely pigmented, which means that you can use it to slightly add a little bit of purple colour to a normal brown/black smokey eye.

Left to Right: Peaches N Cream, Georgia, Caramelised, Puree, Summer Yum, Talk Derby To Me

Peaches N Cream:
A creamy/beige matte. Again, perfect for subtly highlighting the brow bone or for setting your concealer on your eyes for more of a 'blank canvas'. This shade is pretty close to my skin tone, so this should work perfectly for me.

Georgia:
A light pink matte. More pink! You could definitely go to town with a pink eyeshadow look using this palette. This shade is a nice subtle baby pink that would look lovely in the crease as a transition shade, for a girly daytime appropriate look paired with Bellini all over the lid.

Caramelised:
A dark brown with gold shimmer. Now this is one of the main shades I'm excited about! You can bet that I'll be using this shade all over the lid for a smokey eye one evening - s t u n n i n g.

Puree:
A warm toned matte brown. The perfect crease colour for a warm eye look.

Summer Yum:
A red toned matte brown. Another perfect crease colour for a warm eye look.

Talk Derby To Me:
A deep navy blue matte with a slight purple shimmer. I'm not going to lie, this shade is a little strange and I haven't seen many like it before! I quite like it though and I think that it would look so nice paired with a smokey eye for a glamorous evening event, or any evening event for that matter.

All in all, I'm really pleased with the versatility of this palette and I'm really glad that I bought it. Every shade is pigmented and creamy and they all seem to blend pretty well. I am a little bit annoyed that it wasn't well known (to me) that this palette would be arriving in UK stores, otherwise I would have waited a little longer and saved a little bit of money!

If you're thinking about purchasing this palette, I would definitely recommend you go and smell it and swatch the shades - I think you'll all be pretty impressed.

BEAUTY | Favourite Products of 2016

I'm a little late with this post (what's new?), but I wanted to share my favourite beauty products of 2016..

I have seen lots of these posts floating around in my BlogLovin' feed, so obviously I thought that I would jump on the bandwagon and join in.
It's always great to see what everyone else has been loving, as it always gives you inspiration on what to spend your hard earned money on.

I only have a few different products to share, as I'm not one to rave about a product unless I am totally in love it - so you can be 100% sure that I absolutely love these items.

I am obsessed with this eyeshadow palette! All of the matte shades are perfect neutral browns, plus one black which is always necessary for creating that perfect smokey eye, and the shimmers are just complete stand outs. I won't go on too much about this palette, as I've already created a post all about it with swatches included. I will say though that you have to get this whilst it's still in stock on Cult Beauty! I thought that it was only a limited edition palette, but it looks like it's come back in to stock!

I can't believe that I've had this eyeshadow palette for a whole year now!? I definitely need to use it way more than I already do! Again, I won't say too much about this one as I have a dedicated post to it, but I just love it. All of the shades are great and it's really easy to create both a day and night look with this palette, it's so versatile. Each shade is super creamy and easy to blend and there are a nice range of matte's and shimmer's.

This foundation is an absolute god send. I did not think anything was going to overtake my love for Nars Sheer Glow (close second..), but this foundation went above and beyond. It provides me with that tiny little bit of extra coverage that I'm after, whilst also feeling completely weightless on my skin. It also smells really lovely, which is unheard of for a foundation! The shade matches me perfectly, so if you're also a fair gal like me but with a yellow undertone then this shade would work for you.

Such a great product for when you've been away from holiday and need to darken your foundation to match your face/body! I used these religiously with my foundation once I got back from my summer holiday and they were just perfect. They make your foundation match perfectly to your tan without it being obvious that you're wearing a darker shade. These drops will last you ages as well and for only £10, I think that's such a steal. Lightening drops are also available, which would be great if you accidentally bought a foundation that's too dark for you!

Obviously I had to include my most favourite product of 2016, Champagne Pop! I love Jaclyn Hill so anything she creates I am all over and this highlighter did not disappoint one bit. I love the peach undertone to it, it's really pretty and natural looking (who am I kidding? This highlighter is not natural!) and this highlighter also doesn't have chunks of glitter in which is a must. It gives a lovely bright and popping highlight to the cheekbones, which can definitely be seen a mile off!

I admit that this one is slightly more of a 2017 fave, but I did start using it on Boxing Day and I haven't put it away in my drawers since which just goes to show how much I have been using it! I had been using my Benefit Hoola Bronzer for ages and it just wasn't doing it for me anymore, so it needed to be replaced and what better product than one that smells like chocolate?!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Original - £16.00
This stuff is literally glue for your eyeshadow. I've worn quite a heavy smokey eye for nearly 10 hours before and it didn't budge or crease one bit! This will definitely be your best friend when it comes to keeping your eyeshadow in place all day (and night) long. I also think that £16 is a pretty reasonable price when you consider how good this product actually is, it also lasts a fair while as well - even though the tube is quite small.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara, Black - £19.50
I don't think there will ever come a day when I don't wear this mascara, it is my holy grail and one of the only mascara's that actually makes my eyes/eyelashes look great! I won't waffle on about this one much either because there's also a seperate post on this little gem and I don't want to bore you guys to death (congratulations if you're still reading up to this point!).

NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade, Brunette - £5.50
A newbie find for me and this was courtesy of Gemma as she loves it and her eyebrows are always on point! I was toying with the idea of purchasing the ABH Dip Brow Pomade, but decided that I wanted a cheaper alternative as I don't wear makeup enough to justify spending that much money on a brow product I've never tried before! So I opted for the NYX version instead and boy am I glad that I did! It's so simple and easy to use and the colour perfectly matches my eyebrows. This product will also last me quite a long time and it was only £5.50! You all need to get your hands on this as soon as you can!

That concludes my favourite beauty products of 2016, I wonder what new products I'll fall in love with this year!
I still can't believe that another year has flown by that quickly, it's crazy and I'm going to be twenty two in six months time!
I hope this year slows down a little bit so that I can actually enjoy it and plan lots of exciting things to do.

BEAUTY | Makeup Bits I Got For Christmas

For Christmas I received a few little beauty bits and I thought I'd share them with you today on the blog!

Two bits I have previously purchased and the other two I'd never had before. I don't normally tend to ask for many beauty bits as presents, just because I feel bad if I get bought something and then either don't like it or never use it! So I would prefer to waste my own money, rather than someone else's!

Think of this post as a little mini 'haul' if you like, if you'd rather not be reminded of the fact that Christmas is over.. I kept this post Christmas/glitter/sequin/tinsel free, just so you don't feel like you're reading a Christmas type post!

I've been using Benefit's Hoola Bronzer for the longest time now, and I've sort of fallen out of love with it. I just find it a little bit too orange in tone for me and I fancy trying out something different. I hadn't really heard much about the Too Faced bronzer's, so I decided to give one a try (I promise I wasn't swayed at all by the fact that it smells like chocolate..).
I have already tried this product out and I absolutely love it. In the swatch above, you can hardly see the bronzer - it's to the left of the lipstick swatch - but that is what I love about it. I prefer my contour/bronzer to be on the subtle side, as I am petrified of looking patchy and muddy. I can already see this bronzer being my new favourite product!

I have been d y i n g to try out one of the ABH Liquid Lipstick's for over a year now! It's very annoying that they're not yet readily available in the UK. I received this lipstick as a gift from my mum, as she was over in New York back at the end of the last year. She did actually tell me that she couldn't get this one as it was out of stock, little did I know she was telling a little white lie! I'm so pleased and I can't wait to see what the formula is like and whether or not the shade suits me.

I've been obsessed with this mascara for ages now. I've never really used a mascara so much before that it's run out, so this was a first for me - so of course I had to add it to my Christmas wishlist! My eyelashes aren't my best friend and don't tend to look the way I want them to, so it's hard to find a mascara that I love this much that doesn't make my eyelashes go clumpy. It also doesn't transfer which is great and it doesn't feel crispy on your lashes once it's dried. There's not much more to say about this mascara, apart from the fact that I absolutely love it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, Soft Brown - £15.00
It was one of the worst makeup days when my beloved Brow Wiz ran out a few months back. I had just mastered my eyebrows and had started to make them look good (or so I thought..), so when my brow wiz ran out I did panic a little bit, not gonna lie. I decided to try out the NYX Brow Pomade before re-purchasing the Brow Wiz, just to see if I liked it as much. I do actually prefer the brow pomade, but that's another post for another day. I'm glad to have my brow wiz back and it's time to start re-learning how to use it!

Next year I will definitely be asking for makeup bits and bobs, because it was so fun opening it all and trying a couple of new products out!

PERSONAL | Goals for 2017

This particular type of post is circling the blogosphere at this moment in time, due to it being a New Year and all that (if you hadn't already heard) and I thought that I would join in and create some realistic goals for myself to achieve.

I need a post like this to look back on every now and then to keep my motivation in high spirits and spur me on to complete all of these goals before the end of this year arrives too quickly and bites us on the bum, just as 2016 did.

I haven't felt very motivated or inspired these past few months and I'm hoping that will change now that a new year has arrived, but I also just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports my little blog by either reading it or leaving me a lovely comment - I really appreciate it.

So let's see what my goals for 2017 are:

Blog More ~ I was doing really well with creating a lot of content on my blog over the Summer, but then I lost my motivation and posts were pretty sparse throughout the rest of the year especially during Winter. I want to keep to at least two posts a week and make sure that they are the best they possibly can be.

Set up my Etsy Shop ~ I have been thinking about setting up an Etsy shop for a little while now, I just never really knew what to sell on there. However, now I'm thinking of selling photograph's that I've taken as I've always had a passion for photography - this was the main reason for setting up my blog, as I just love to take photo's. I would be really grateful if you guys would take a quick look at my shop - (link here).

Post More on YouTube ~ I've had my YouTube channel for over two years now and dabbled with it a little bit here and there, but never been too serious about it. Just because it takes up so much time which I don't have, what with a full time job. You also need to be fairly confident which I'm not at all, so it's actually quite difficult to sit in front of a camera and talk to yourself and also try and be yourself without being shy. However, this year I'm hoping to post more makeup videos which will coincide with my blog.

Post More on Instagram ~ I love Instagram. Possibly a bit too much. I need to start posting more and growing my audience on there, which will really help to boost my blog and also I love pretty pictures so I have no excuse for not taking them! I'm aiming to finally get my following past 4,000 followers, as I've been stuck at 3,000 for a whole year now.. Yes, I do know that not everything is about followers but I'm a little unsure as to why I'm losing them since my content is much better and cleaner than before..

Explore More ~ I'm always quick to judge the UK and wish that I lived somewhere else, which is really bad because I haven't ventured much around the UK so I have no idea what it has to offer. This year will be the year I visit different places, either for a little day trip or a weekend away and just appreciate the beautiful country that I live in.

Have a Clear Out ~ Too much "stuff" is not good and I have way too much. For the past year I have been selling my clothes on both eBay and Depop which has been really good, however I still have a box full under my bed that needs selling and I also need to go through everything else in my room and decide what I really don't need. I am in serious need of a de-clutter as my room is constantly messy which stresses me out.

Do More Exercise ~ So cliche, I know. This is always everyone's 'New Year's Resolution' and I hate to jump on the bandwagon and join everyone else, but I need to take up another exercise class this year or at least do a workout DVD once a week. Exercise always makes me feel better and more positive, so I need to try and set a realistic goal like this one that I will actually stick to.

Potentially Re-decorate my Room ~ I've been toying with the idea of re-decorating my room for a good few months now, preferably to white and grey. At the moment it's pink and white with a Cath Kidston patterned wallpaper and matching bedding. I just fancy something a little more simplistic that I won't get bored of. However, I am quite attached to my wallpaper so this one may or may not happen. If it does, there will of course be a before and after post for you all to see.

Save my Half of the House Deposit ~ My boyfriend and I are saving up for a house deposit to finally move out together. We're hoping to be moved out by the beginning of 2018 and I seriously need to get my ass into gear and save up a lot of money. I'm not even half way yet, but I can promise you that I will have my half by the end of the year.

Choose Happy ~ The past few months I've been a pretty miserable soul and negative Nancy, which needs to change now. At the end of the day, I'm the only one who's in charge of letting myself be unhappy and it needs to stop. If I'm unhappy with something then I need to change it and just get on with it. I'm the only one in charge of my happiness and life is too short to not be happy.

2017 is my year of positivity and I aim to keep myself in high spirits throughout the year. Let's support each other as fellow bloggers and build up each other's confidence and motivation. Let's make 2017 great :)

PREVIEW | Glossybox - December Edition

Admittedly, this post was supposed to be published back at the end of December (hence the Christmas-sy sequins), however I thought I'd lost my memory card with all of these photo's on and I was being a stubborn mule by refusing to take the photo's again, as I knew they just wouldn't be as good.

I then had a brainwave and realised that I'd probably left my memory card in my computer at work, which I wouldn't be seeing again until January. So hopefully you can forgive this Christmas-sy post and just pretend that it's still December whilst you're reading this!

December edition's Glossybox was absolutely b e a u t i f u l - just look at that packaging!? I love the sleek white box with the gorgeous gold wreath design, it's just so Christmas-sy and perfect. I was already excited before I'd even opened the box to see the contents that awaited inside.

At first glance I was pretty impressed with what I received in the box. I took a quick look at all of the products inside and immediately knew that I would use every single one - which is unheard of with me.

I also recognised three out of the five different brands inside, which excited me a little more. There's just something about recognising a makeup brand that really gets us beauty bloggers going!

So, let's see what's inside:

I was very excited by this product because I'm yet to find a brow gel as good as the Benefit Gimme Brow that doesn't cost nearly as much. Now, let me tell you, this is the one guy's! I immediately tried this one out because I was desperate to find out if it was as good as the Gimme Brow - the verdict? It's better. This little gem is like super glue for your eyebrows, just obviously a lot more comfortable. It's described as being waterproof and transparent as well as weightless - it is all of those things and more. It's just perfect and you all need it in your life!

The best beauty box is one where you receive a highlighter - am I right? Highlighting is my favourite step of my makeup application and I never miss doing it. My highlighter collection is beginning to grow and I am very happy with that. I also love finding drugstore highlighter's that are just as good as high end one's, so I'm hoping that this palette lives up to it's high expectations. The only thing that I am worried about with this product is the shade, all of the colour's either look too pink or brown for me, so I'm not sure how I'm going to get on with that, but I will of course let you know.

Another great product to receive in a beauty box is a lipstick, especially one that's nude that you're actually going to wear. I'd never heard of this brand before so I was intrigued. I've since found out that MDMFlow is quite expensive, especially when you compare the price to expensive MAC lipsticks which are £15.50.. The swatch of this lipstick didn't disappoint as, as you can see, the shade is very pigmented and quite creamy and I'm excited to see how this applies on my lips and whether or not the shade suits me!

Oh look, another makeup product I'm obsessed with (I promise I'm not obsessed with every single makeup product on the market..). I have way too many eyeshadows/eyeshadow palettes for one person, but I just can't stop buying them. There aren't many shades that I don't wear (apart from the obvious brightly coloured ones of course), so I'm looking forward to trying this one out as I love green eyeshadows. The only thing I am a little worried about is the pigmentation and blend-ability of this eyeshadow, as the swatch didn't really do it for me as it applied to my hand a little patchy.

I also have way too many nail varnishes, but of course that collection is ever growing as well. I've never tried a nail varnish from Revlon before, so I'm looking forward to seeing if this one chips after only two days of wear just like all of my Barrym ones.. I recently tried a nail varnish by NailsInc. which lasted a week on my nails before chipping - so I'm hoping that this one is the same.

REFLECTION | Looking Back on my Favourite Posts of 2016

I thought I would do something very different today here on 'CharsLittleBlog', as I'm having a little bit of a break from blogging at the moment, due to not having any motivation or inspiration (I'm hoping it will come back soon).

So I thought that I would look back and reflect on my blog posts of 2016 - from my absolute favourite posts to write to the posts that received the most positive feedback.
I also thought that it would be motivational to see how much I've grown as a blogger and how much better my photography is, as well as how my writing "skills" (I use that word loosely as I am in no way an expert when it comes to writing, however I like to think that I can spell and that I put my punctuation in all of the right places..) have come on.

First off, let's start with all of my favourite posts that I wrote throughout 2016;

Next are the posts that received the most positive feedback/comments (interaction);

Its quite clear to see how my Photography has come on and looking back has been really good for my self confidence. I also just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone that continues to support my blog, whether that's by reading every post or leaving me a lovely comment. I really do appreciate it.
I'm hoping that my inspiration and motivation picks up this year as I love blogging and would love to turn it into a career one day.

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Thank you for all of your love and support throughout 2016!xoxo
