The Problems with Clothing Sizes

Today I wanted to touch base on something that is really beginning to annoy me - how varied clothing sizes can be.

Being someone who is fairly petite - I'm 5ft 1" in case any of you were wondering - I struggle to find clothes that fit me properly and nicely everywhere. My figure is all in proportion and nothing is either too big nor too small, so, in theory, clothes should fit me properly.

However, this is not the case. Just last week I ordered a size 4 playsuit from ASOS and it was waaay too big, I'm not even a regular size 4 - I would say I'm a typical size 6 - so this playsuit should have actually been too small for me. I was gutted, to say the least, because I was really looking forward to owning this playsuit as it is beautiful.

See the photo's below of me wearing it, it doesn't look massively too big for me in the photo where I'm wearing the heeled wedges, but there was just soo much material and it was super baggy - as you can see in the first photo. I understand that this style is supposed to be baggy but I know the difference between something being baggy and something being just too big.

Put it this way, my mum is a size 10/12 and she tried this playsuit on and it just about fit her (it was nearly too big for her as well!) - I would post a photo of my mum wearing it, but out of respect for her I'm not going to share that photo as I know she wouldn't like it.

Admittedly, I didn't order the Petite version as they never make enough of these sizes so that option literally sold out in less than a week, but the fact that this playsuit fitted a size 10-12 when it's supposed to fit a size 4 is just ridiculous.

I am extremely disappointed and fed up with this, it's something I encounter on a much too regular basis and it just wastes time for everyone having to constantly return items because it's a small size that's too big.

We are constantly wasting plastic and fuel with all of this ordering and returning, just because clothing companies cannot get their sizings correct. It's causing unnecessary environmental damage (bit extreme? But possibly and probably true).

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that there should be one fit for each size that every clothing company has to go by and meet the correct measurements set (give or take a few inches) and every company should also have a Petite range (and a Tall, Plus and Curve range for that matter) so that everyone is catered to as it's not fair for a load of us to be missing out.

I know it's s u c h a #firstworldproblem but I think it's something that a lot of us girl's experience on a much too regular basis. It's about time that something in the clothing industry was changed in order to minimise this recurring issue.

Hopefully you guys agree with me or understand the point I'm trying to make, this is quite a different post for me to create but I quite enjoyed having the words and sentences flow without thinking about it!

Are clothing sizes an issue for you as well?xoxo

11 Reasons I Love Playing Pokemon Go

Yes, I have jumped on the bandwagon and yes, I am one of those sad people that wanders around glued to their phone trying to 'catch them all'.

Read this tweet

Am I the only one who has no idea what this whole Pokemon thing going on at the moment is?!

I was a little bit judgey (ok, a l o t) and vowed I would never play it.. Now, a month on, I'm completely addicted and I'm on level 14..
So, here are some of the reasons why I am obsessed.
  1. I am the biggest collector of things you'll ever meet, so the fact I can collect cute little Pokemon characters is a m a z i n g.
  2. It gets you out and about so secretly you're exercising but it doesn't really feel like you are, and isn't that just the best form of exercise?
  3. You normally go out 'catching' with your boyfriend/girlfriend or friends and that = being social (unless you go out playing on your own and then you really a r e addicted my friend..).
  4. Playing Pokemon makes you feel like you've actually d o n e something that particular day, rather than sitting in your room being bored waiting for the next day to arrive.
  5. Going past Pokestops and collecting Pokeballs feeds your Pokemon addiction and woah, I have 50 POKEBALLS?!
  6. You can eat chocolate whilst you're walking and then look, calorie intake + calories you're burning = no calories consumed #win.
  7. I actually feel g o o d at something when OMG I'VE CAUGHT A GROWLITHE and OMG LOOK AWW A CUTE JIGGLYPUFF!
  8. Walking 2km, 5km or 10km and hatching an egg so you get that 'ohmygoodness what is it going to be?! This is too exciting - like opening a Christmas cracker and wondering what awesome (shit) gift you'll get this time?!' feeling.
  9. I l o o o v e how much the app drains my battery (lol jk, it sucks - I lost 20% battery in how many seconds?!)
  10. You know you've accomplished life when you catch Pikachu, even if it is only CP 14..
  11. You're just as cool as all of the 13 year old's playing it, so just remember that - you're a kid at heart really.

NEW BUYS #2 | Tanya Burr Cosmetics

Whilst I was adding a load of Zoella Beauty (link here) products to my basket, I thought I may as well have a little look at what Tanya Burr Cosmetics was offering at the same time. I was super pleased to stumble across the matte lipsticks and matte nail varnishes, as I am obsessed with anything and everything matte.

I also noticed the cute little eyeshadow palette's and obviously I wanted both, but ended up restricting myself and I only bought the one.

From the Soft Luxe Collection, I purchased one of the liquid lipsticks, one of the matte nail varnishes and one of the eyeshadow palettes.

Tanya Burr Martha Moo Luxe Lip Gloss - £5.99

The first item to be added to my basket was (obviously) the liquid lipstick in the shade Martha Moo. I love the name, I think it's so cute and the shade is a really lovely muted red/brown with a tiny bit of pink. Definitely a great everyday wear shade.

I haven't worn this lipstick for that long, I just quickly tried it on to see if the colour suited me (it did in case you wondering) and I can say that it's a pretty good liquid lipstick! It dries within 30 seconds to 1 minute and does dry completely matte and not patchy at all. I didn't find it super comfortable to wear, but then I also didn't find it super uncomfortable to wear either.

I think you're getting what you pay for and it does the job really nicely. I do really love the colour though, a l o t.

Left to Right: Marzipan, Toast, Cocoa Sugar & Soft Truffle
Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Eye Shadow Palette - £5.99

I wasn't actually intending on picking up one of the eyeshadow palette's, but they both caught my attention so I limited myself to just the one. I went for the more 'everyday' wear palette as I thought I would get more use out of this one, however I do think that the Enchanted Dream palette is just as beautiful.

I was a tiny bit disappointed when I opened the lid of this palette to find that the individual pans were a little bit misplaced and there was a bit of eyeshadow fallout underneath the see-through plastic film - this is just a minimal negative though and will not affect how I feel about the palette overall.

I did swatch each eyeshadow and the colour payoff seemed pretty good, a little chalky but nothing I won't be able to work with. I am yet to try these eyeshadows on my eyes, but I will be sure to do a full review once I have done so.

The packaging does obviously feel quite cheap as the eyeshadows are housed in a cardboard palette, however the design of the palette is really pretty and I love the metallic polka dots.

Tanya Burr Soft Luxe Nail Polish (Soft Pyjamas) - £4.99

I literally have an obsession with buying nail polishes and I definitely own way too many, especially in regards to the amount of times I a c t u a l l y paint my nails. Either way, the shade 'Soft Pyjamas' really caught my eye as it's a beautiful nail polish colour that actually makes me want to paint my nails (I say this all the time so let's see if I do actually end up painting them..). It's also supposed to have a matte finish which I l o v e and I would describe the shade as a lilac/grey/taupe - which is right up my street.

I'm excited to start using all of these products and maybe even purchase some more if I love them!

NEW BUYS | Zoella Beauty

New beauty products released by one of my favourite Youtubers? Umm yes please!
I'm a sucker when it comes to new beauty purchases, so obviously I had to get my hands on some of the new beauty products created by Zoella.

I haven't actually purchased that much from Zoella's range before, just because I don't tend to pamper myself that often (cos I'm lazy). However, this collection really grabbed my attention because it's just so 'me', from the packaging to the scent and everything in between. This collection really does make me want to pamper myself that little bit more.

I decided to pick up the mist, bath salts, body lotion and the beauty bag.

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Body Mist - £8.00

Obviously this was the first item to be placed into my ever growing basket as I am obsessed with perfumes/mists - I think I own around 14, which yes is excessive but I like to smell nice and different ok?

I am completely in love with the packaging as I love anything baby pink and gold. The pattern reflecting through the clear glass bottle is also really eye catching and not a pattern I've seen much of before.

The scent is gorgeous and includes Sweet Almond, Honey and Cocoa.

Zoella Double Créme Body Lotion - £5.00

Who can resist a body lotion that smells this good? Clearly not me.

The body lotion is such a decent size, especially when you consider how inexpensive this product is in comparison to other body lotions of this size and quality.

Again, the packaging is just so cute and baby pink and white stripe pattern is beautiful.

Zoella Sugar Dip Scented Bath Salt Granules - £6.00

I'm too excited to use these bath salts and smell absolutely glorious! The next time I have a bath I will be using these for sure.

Can we just take a moment to talk about the packaging? I love the cute little 'sweetie' bag that the bath salts come in (it makes me want to eat them) and I also really love the pyramid box that these salts are housed in. I never want to throw it away!

Zoella LIFE IS SWEET Beauty Bag - £6.00

This makeup bag is literally the cutest thing ever. I love the pale lilac colour of it and the scallop edges - it's super cute and very Parisian.

I use this bag to store girly bits and bobs that I take with me to work, as it's just the perfect size and looks really pretty.

As you can tell, I'm a little bit of a fangirl when it comes to the new Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations range, but who can blame me really when it smells this good? If you haven't managed to pick up anything just yet, I highly suggest you do as the products are just beautiful! Make sure to check out Superdrug as they are currently offering 3 for 2 on all Zoella beauty products (this is what I did and I managed to save quite a bit of money, which my bank balance is always thankful for).

Have you bought anything from the Zoella Beauty range yet?xoxo

HOLIDAY | Sardinia, Italy

I have recently got back from a very hot and sunny time away in Sardinia, Italy with my best friend (I say recently, but I have been lazy with getting this post up so it has now been 3 weeks since).
I had the most amazing week with the once in a lifetime opportunity - the experience of living on a Yacht.

Motion sickness and I don't really bode well, so it was safe to say that I was a little apprehensive and I did actually end up taking five doses of sickness tablets on the first day.. Luckily that didn't last all week and by the last two days I was only needing to take one or two doses.

I am forever grateful to my best friend's parents for taking me away with them on this amazing trip, and it is definitely one that I will never forget.

I'll stop rambling now and just let you see the photo's - enjoy!

Bonifacio, Corsica, France. On this day we decided to go for a mini hike (yes, in 34 degree weather, no, don't ask me why either..).

This was at 7.30am and the sun rising was just absolutely beautiful, I had to take a photo - of course!

Sardinia, Italy. Such a beautiful place - amazing for all you photography lovers out there!

Breakfast each day was super yummy and I, of course, had a nutella croissant or two every morning (#noshame). There was also other fresh pastries, fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, granola, toast and various jams to choose from.

The water was literally this colour everywhere we went, and it couldn't be more inviting if it tried. Oh how I wish we had water this colour in the UK..

I really should have taken a lot more photo's than I did, but I was just trying to take it all in and enjoy myself without thinking 'ooh take a photo of this' 'ooh and that!' every ten seconds.. So, there's a small handful of photo's that I hope you've all enjoyed having a nosey at, and I'm really sorry if I have now made you want to eat a nutella croissant :)
