I finally took the plunge and decided to treat myself to one of the monthly Cohorted beauty box's (I have been trying to buy one since April and I they literally sold out within minutes and I always missed out..).
I was quite excited with the concept of these boxes as you never know what is actually going to be in your box that you receive.
If you aren't familiar with the brand Cohorted, it is basically a beauty website that offers both high end and low end beauty items at a discounted price. However, they are more well known for their high end products. Each week there are a couple of new 'cohorts' that go up on the website which are always high end and are discounted to a more affordable price, which is always great to hear!
This is the first beauty box that I have ever purchased and it arrived beautifully packaged, all sleek and sophisticated with a black ribbon tied in a bow around a simple yet captivating black box (definitely perfect for blog photo's and of course Instagram photo's!). So, without further ado, let's see what's inside of the box!
BareMinerals | Purifying Cleansing Lotion
I have never tried any beauty products from Bare Minerals and I honestly could not even tell you why. I guess I just use what I use and everything else goes a little unnoticed. I'm not really one to try new products as I'm scared of my skin breaking out or wasting my money on products that I'll try once and then never use again (I can be realistic and sensible sometimes, see..). I'm kind of looking forward to trying this cleansing lotion as I haven't had one of these involved in my skincare routine in a little while (due to the sensitive skin situation).
BareMinerals | Purely Nourishing Moisturiser
I do already have a moisturiser that I use on a daily basis night time maybe two or three times a week (I'm too lazy to care - it's bad, I know!) so I've decided that I will use this to moisturise my skin before applying my makeup. I am a little apprehensive to try this product out as my skin is pretty much intolerant to almost all ingredients - including the ones that are actually good for you might I add.
Peter Thomas Roth | Lashes To Die For Mascara
This product I am more than excited to try out because I absolutely love mascara and I have an ever growing collection. I did a little research on this mascara and found out that it has staggered bristles which seperate the lashes and it also promises to deliver volume and length. This mascara also has a slim tapered tip which reaches the smallest lashes with ease. Sounds promising so far right? I also read that this mascara isn't supposed to clump, smudge or flake - if this is true then I will be very pleased!
BareMinerals | Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Hypnotist
I'm not really a lipgloss lover, so I was a little disappointed by this product. If it had been a regular lipgloss colour (clear, nude, pink, red, etc.) then I would have been happy, but I'm not too excited about the concept of this particular lipgloss as it is described as being 'iridescent' and shifting from pale purple to coral-peach with gold pearl. I only briefly tried this on my lips with no colour underneath and there was nothing special about. However, I have not tried it over the top of a lipstick yet so I will give that a try first before I completely knock this product.
Ciaté | Paint Pots Nail Varnish - Serendipity
I have never tried a Ciaté nail varnish before - I am a Barrym lover through and through - so I am very pleased to have received this in my beauty box. The colour is absolutely gorgeous! It's a really Christmas-y and sparkly red/pink shade which will definitely look so pretty for this time of the year. I love the cute little bow that comes attached to the nail varnish bottle - it adds that delicate little touch that makes this brand stand out above all the rest. I'm really hoping that the consistency of this nail varnish lives up to expectations and doesn't disappoint.
I must say that, all in all, I was pretty pleased with everything I received - bar the 'Marvelous Moxie' lipgloss. I am quite tempted by Cohorted's Black subscription box and I may treat myself again next month, but we shall see! I have been browsing the internet for other potential beauty box buys but I'm pretty disappointed in what I did manage to find as none of the other's really compare to the Cohorted Beauty Box. I would love to know which beauty box's you guys recommend.
